  • Jennifer believes in creating an exciting and nurturing environment where students are not afraid to take educational risks. She helps students by giving them the tools they need to unlock their full potential and become a lover of learning!

Kathleen Berry

  • In her free time, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her husband and enjoying the outdoors.

  • Kathleen believes in creating a fun, encouraging, and meaningful learning environment, so that all students will develop a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.

    •In her free time, Kristi loves to read and spend time with her family, friends, and mini-dachshund Hazel. 
    •Kristi feels her most important job as a teacher, is for her students to feel loved and successful by creating a safe and fun environment for students to learn and take risks. She hopes to pass on a love of learning that her students can take with them throughout their lives. 


Fatima Ruiz


  • Bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Arlington in Political Science, with a Minor in Spanish.

  • Native Spanish Speaker.

  • Spanish Curriculum Specialist (K-6th Grade) 

  • District and Campus leadership.

  • 5.5 years of teaching experience at HPISD. (Kinder-4th Bradfield Elementary, 5th-6th McCulloch Intermediate, 2PAP and Spanish 4 HPHS)

  • Current 6th Grade Spanish teacher at McCulloch Intermediate School. 

  • 4  years tutoring experience.

  • In her free time, she loves spending quality time with her family, jogging, and traveling.

  • Fatima believes in the importance of early language acquisition as research shows that learning a second language boosts problem-solving, critical-thinking, and listening skills, in addition to improving memory, concentration, and the ability to multitask. She strives to design engaging course work that caters to the needs of her students.

Kathlyn Lehner

  • Currently a substitute teacher at Momentous Institute

  • In her free time, Kathlyn likes to run, cook, and spend time with her husband, Andrew, and their children, Edward, Lynlea, and Thomas. 

  • Kathlyn believes in building upon students natural curiosities and empowering students with tools to be academically, socially, and emotionally successful.  She believes in creating a learning environment where students can build self-confidence, take risks, and acquire skills that will help them persevere

  • In her free time, Ellen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing tennis, and attending her children's sporting events.

  • Ellen believes that every child's potential can be reached if their individual needs are met by a caring, engaging instructor who can make learning fun and meaningful.
