Tricia McCoy

  • Graduate of University of Central Oklahoma, BA in Education

  • State of Texas Certified 4-8 Generalist, Gifted Certification

  • 14 years of teaching experience in Richardson ISD (5-8 science and reading language arts)

  • 4 years serving as a campus instructional coach supporting teachers in K-6 Science and Reading Language Arts 

  • Multi-sensory Teaching Approach (MTA) dyslexia teacher (2018-2020)

  • 5th and 6th grade science new teacher coach and trainer for curriculum and instruction

  • Teacher of the Year finalist at Wallace Elementary (RISD)

  • Is a Mom of two dyslexic boys and has a deep understanding of the struggles and strengths of the dyslexic learner. 

  • Spends her time with her husband Dustin, boys Dylan (15) and Miles (11), and two pups (Leia and Trudy).

  • Is a passionate educator who believes that when science is hands-on, has real-world connections, and is visual, there will be a deeper understanding of the world around us.

  • Believes that building relationships makes a difference in academic success
