Intensified phonics + 

fluency + spelling instruction

for students with dyslexia or who may be at risk

About these Groups:

Our specialized weekly classes are limited to four students and are prescriptive by design. Content is compatible with what students are learning in their classroom and delivered through intensive small group instruction. 

 

We build skills gradually by introducing concepts first in isolation and then by integrating them with other skills. This systematic approach provides students opportunities to practice and receive clear corrective feedback.

 

This class will strengthen:

  • Alphabet Knowledge

  • Phonemic Awareness

  • Decoding

  • Fluency

  • Spelling

 

All of these areas will be explicitly taught using multisensory techniques.

Intensified reading comprehension +

vocabulary instruction

for students reading below grade level

About these Groups:

 

Our specialized weekly classes are limited to four students and are prescriptive by design. Content is compatible with what students are learning in their classroom and delivered through intensive small group instruction.

This class will strengthen:

  • Listening comprehension 

  • Literal and inferential comprehension 

  • Comprehension monitoring and self-correcting strategies

  • Vocabulary knowledge

 

All of these areas will be explicitly taught using multisensory techniques.

Speech Sound Disorders

 

Intensified motor speech + articulation + phonological instruction for students with speech disorders or who may be at risk

We build skills gradually by introducing concepts first in isolation and then by integrating them with other skills. This systematic approach provides students opportunities to practice and receive clear corrective feedback.

 

This class will strengthen:

  • Speech Sound Production

  • Overall Intelligibility

  • Phonemic Awareness

  • Ability to express thoughts and ideas successfully

  • Decrease frustration

 

All of these areas will be explicitly taught using multisensory techniques. 

Receptive and Expressive Language

 

Intensified language comprehension and use + 

vocabulary instruction for students with delayed language

  • Oral and written expression

  • Listening comprehension 

  • Vocabulary knowledge

  • Categorization

  • Following multistep directions

  • Formulating grammatically correct sentences

All of these areas will be explicitly taught using multisensory techniques. 

Social Language

  • Conversation skills

  • Perspective Taking

  • Friendship

  • Expected/Unexpected Behaviors

  • Non-verbal communication

  • Social Problem Solving

 

All of these areas will be explicitly taught using multisensory techniques.  

Speech Fluency

Intensified speech therapy instruction for students who stutter or are at risk

This class will strengthen:

  • Understanding anatomy of speech

  • Fluency facilitation techniques

  • Social-emotional reactions to stuttering 

  • Meeting others who stutter

  • Peer conversation practice

 

All of these areas will be explicitly taught using multisensory techniques.
